Marriage in Real Life

This one's a doozy, huh? Thanks alot there Jen. You know my husband reads my blog.
Marriage is hard. You are pledging your life to another person. And this person may be soo different from you in so many ways. I have seen many marriages crumble, whether it took only a few years or a couple of decades. Mine has definitely gone through its ups and downs over the past ten+ years. We have been through some pretty tough times. But we have not given up. He may drive me nuts with his unnatural World of Warcraft obsession but he puts up with my love of all things Harvest Moon. He may not love camping as much as I do but he will still come on the (very) occassional trip. I will never share his love of sausage but he puts up with my cooking.
Do I have any sage-like advice for newlyweds or those about to embark on this roller coaster ride known as marriage?
Nope.
Not even a little.
All it boils down to for me is that I love my husband.
I think I'll go and give him a kiss now.

That was sweet. Great post!

My husband LOVES computers but lucky for me he is not a gamer. So I put up with all his computer equipment (I do benefit from some of it) and he puts up with all my craft purchases and projects!

Oh relationships, ain't they grand?

My fella is returning from a 4 month trip away from home and I look forward to his return because I know it'll be like new for a minute.

I wonder how long it'll be before we're "back to normal" again. Ha!

you've inspired me to go give Jay a kiss too. You know, I think a lot of the success of a marriage comes from each partner appreciating the other. thanks for reminding me! :)
